12 Best Beaches in the UAE: The 2026 Guide

With over 1,300 km of coastline on the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, the UAE is a beach lover’s paradise — and most of its best beaches are free. From Dubai’s buzzing kite-surfing shores to Abu Dhabi’s protected natural islands and Fujairah’s snorkelling coves, here are the 12 beaches worth planning your 2026 around.

Dubai’s Best Beaches

1. Kite Beach

The local favourite: kitesurfers, joggers on the 14 km track, food trucks and unbeatable Burj Al Arab views. Free entry, lively from sunrise to sunset. Weekends get busy — come on a weekday morning for space.

2. JBR Beach (The Walk)

Dubai’s most social beach, backed by The Walk’s restaurants and shops. Great people-watching, inflatable water parks in summer, and easy metro access via DMCC/Sobha Realty station plus tram.

3. Jumeirah Beach (Umm Suqeim)

The classic postcard shot — white sand, turquoise water, Burj Al Arab. Quieter than JBR, with a lovely running track. The stretch near the Jumeirah Beach Hotel is the prettiest.

4. Al Mamzar Beach Park

A Sharjah-border gem: five beaches plus shaded picnic areas, pools and barbecue spots. Small entry fee (~AED 5), but worth it for the park facilities. Ladies’ days apply on certain weekdays — check before going.

5. La Mer (Jumeirah 1)

Dubai’s artsy beachfront: colourful murals, boutique shops and a more curated vibe than the big public beaches. Good for a half-day combined with lunch.

Abu Dhabi’s Best Beaches

6. Saadiyat Beach

Arguably the UAE’s most beautiful beach: 9 km of natural white sand on a protected island, with dunes, nesting hawksbill turtles (seasonal) and crystal water. The public beach has a small entry fee and excellent facilities; the adjacent resort beaches are pristine.

7. Corniche Beach

Abu Dhabi’s Blue Flag urban beach along the Corniche promenade — divided into family, singles and general sections, with lifeguards, loungers and cafes. Free and very well maintained.

8. Yas Beach

On Yas Island near Ferrari World: a relaxed, mangrove-fringed beach with calm water, ideal for families combining theme parks with beach time.

East Coast & Northern Emirates

9. Snoopy Island, Fujairah

The UAE’s best snorkelling from shore: a rocky island (named for its Snoopy-like profile) off Sandy Beach, with turtles, reef fish and rays. Bring your own gear; conditions are best March–May and September–November.

10. Khorfakkan Beach, Sharjah

A sweeping bay backed by the Hajar mountains, with a new amphitheatre, waterfall and corniche. The drive through the mountains from Dubai is half the experience.

11. Al Khan Beach, Sharjah

Sharjah’s liveliest beach: watersports, jet skis, beach volleyball and family facilities, 15 minutes from Dubai. Note Sharjah’s stricter dress expectations — modest swimwear is wise.

12. Ghantoot (Golden Tulip Al Jazira)

Between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this quiet stretch is a favourite for a peaceful day trip away from the city crowds — soft sand, clear water, minimal fuss.

Beach Practicalities for 2026

  • Best season: October–April for perfect beach weather; May and September are hot but swimmable early/late in the day.
  • What to bring: Reef-safe sunscreen, swim shoes for rocky entries (Fujairah), and a cover-up for beach-to-street transitions.
  • Dress code: Swimwear is fine on the sand in Dubai and Abu Dhabi; cover up when leaving the beach. Sharjah and conservative areas expect more modesty.
  • Safety: Swim only in lifeguarded zones, respect red flags, and watch for jellyfish warnings in late summer.
  • Costs: Most public beaches are free; loungers/umbrellas rent for AED 50–150; private resort day-passes run AED 150–400 (often redeemable on food).
