The best time to visit the UAE is November to March. Days are warm and sunny (24–28°C), evenings are pleasant, humidity is low, and the entire outdoor calendar — beaches, desert safaris, festivals, al fresco dining — is in full swing. It is also, unsurprisingly, the most expensive time to visit.
But “best” depends on what you want. Summer brings brutal heat and unbeatable hotel deals. Shoulder months offer a sweet spot of decent weather and lower prices. Here is the full month-by-month breakdown so you can pick your perfect window.
Arguably the finest month: daytime highs around 24°C, crisp blue skies, cool evenings (pack a light jacket). The Dubai Shopping Festival usually runs through January with citywide deals and concerts. Hotel prices are at their highest — book well ahead. Desert nights can dip surprisingly cold, so bring layers for safaris.
More of the same glorious weather, slightly warmer. A great month for outdoor everything: beaches, hiking in Hatta, the Taste of Dubai food festival, and ideal conditions for visiting Abu Dhabi’s outdoor attractions. Prices remain peak but ease slightly toward month-end.
Temperatures climb to around 28–30°C — still very comfortable, and the sea is warming up nicely for swimming. Art Dubai and the Dubai Food Festival add cultural flavour. One of the best-value months in the high season window.
Daytime highs push past 32°C and humidity starts creeping up, but mornings and evenings remain lovely. Hotel rates drop noticeably. Ramadan sometimes falls in spring — a fascinating cultural time to visit, with shorter attraction hours but magical evenings and night markets. Check dates before booking.
Now properly hot (35–40°C), and the beach becomes a morning-or-sunset affair. The upside: serious discounts on hotels, and indoor attractions — malls, museums, theme parks — are blissfully air-conditioned and quiet. If you can handle heat and plan around it, May is a bargain hunter’s month.
This is the real deal: 42–48°C with stifling humidity, especially in August. Outdoor sightseeing is genuinely unpleasant midday, and you will plan your life around air conditioning. But — luxury hotels slash rates by 40–60%, beaches empty out, and Dubai Summer Surprises brings mall-wide sales. It suits travellers who mainly want pools, malls, spas and indoor attractions. Drink water constantly, and never underestimate the heat.
Still hot (38–40°C) but the worst is passing, and humidity begins to ease. Prices stay low while conditions improve week by week. A smart month for a cheap trip if you can tolerate late-summer warmth.
One of the best-value months of the year. Temperatures fall back to the low 30s, the sea is at its warmest, and Global Village typically opens mid-October. Hotel rates have not yet hit winter peaks. If you want 80% of the winter experience at 60% of the price, come in October.
The switch flips: highs around 30°C dropping to the mid-20s, humidity gone, perfect beach weather. Outdoor dining terraces fill up, desert season begins, and the events calendar wakes up. Prices climb back toward peak — book early for the UAE National Day (2–3 December) period.
Beautiful weather (25°C days), Christmas markets, New Year’s Eve fireworks at the Burj Khalifa — and the year’s highest hotel rates. If you are coming over Christmas/New Year, book flights and hotels months ahead; this is the single busiest period of the year.
Ramadan moves each year (roughly a month in spring during the late 2020s). Visiting during Ramadan is a unique cultural experience: the city slows by day and comes alive after iftar with night markets and late-night dining. Note that restaurants may have restricted daytime hours, live music pauses, and you should dress and behave conservatively in public. Many travellers find it one of the most rewarding times to visit.
For the classic UAE trip — beaches, desert, sightseeing in comfort — November to March is unbeatable. For the best balance of weather and price, October and April are the insider picks. And if your budget matters more than the thermometer, summer’s deals are genuinely spectacular.
